New Orleans has become one of the nation’s hardest hit cities by COVID-19. Locally and nationwide, we have seen a shortage in personal protective equipment (PPE) to protect essential businesses and their employees. New Orleans-based companies MediaBlink and Pelican Events have teamed up to assist with this PPE shortage. Within 12 hours, the collaboration reallocated work force and equipment and repurposed materials to manufacture face shields. These face shields will be available for donation to first responders, area hospitals, healthcare facilities, nursing homes, and other high tier, essential entities. They are also available for purchase in wholesale lots of 100 or more to other businesses that need them.
New Orleans has a strong history of joining together during times of great adversity. Together we fought back to recover from Hurricane Katrina and together we will fight to keep our community protected and safe from COVID-19.
